Study description and results
Artificial Intelligence has evolved from a theoretical concept into a functional component of the Additive Manufacturing production chain. However, as the market of such solutions matures, the challenge for industrial users has shifted from understanding the potential of AI to identifying which specific solutions offer a genuine return on investment versus those that remain in the experimental phase.
This AMPOWER study provides a structured investigation into the current maturity and industrial impact of AI in 3D printing. We conducted a deep-dive analysis of approximately 50 distinct AI solutions, covering the entire process chain from design and simulation to in-situ monitoring and quality control. The scope of the study focuses on evaluating these technologies based on their readiness for production and their ability to solve specific tasks in the AM workflow.
The resulting study enables the reader to understand the current maturity of AI and to look beyond the hype, providing a factual basis for strategic technology decisions. The full results of this study, including deep dives of around 50 solutions are available as a proprietary report.
